We are pleased to announce that Simon Sorensen has accepted the role of Technology Services Supervisor, commencing February 7, 2022. Simon is no stranger to The Palliser School Division and Information Technology in general. Prior to accepting the Technology Services Supervisor assignment, he was originally hired in 2008 as a Computer Technician and later accepted a new role as the division’s Network Analyst in 2016.
Born in Denmark, Simon and his family moved to Canada when he was a very young child. He grew up in Elkford, BC, until his move, at age 18, to attend the University of Lethbridge as an English Major, later receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2000. In 2001, Simon returned to the Lethbridge College to obtain his Computer Information Technology Diploma and achieved a 3.99 GPA which earned him the Young, Parkyn, McNab & Co. Scholarship award for demonstrated excellence in the field of computer information technology as well as the Jason Lang Scholarship for exceptional performance in a post secondary institution.
“I have a genuine love of technology, which is what drove me into the field,” noted Simon. “The opportunity to see the role technology has to play in Education has been a very rewarding experience. I hope that I can continue to facilitate student learning for Palliser students in this new role.”
The Division is looking forward to Simon bringing his philosophy of shared leadership to
this new position.
