Palliser School Division is pleased to announce that Sara Woofenden has been appointed Principal of Milo Community School for the 2024/2025 school year. Sara Woofenden brings experience and a deep commitment to the school community. With her continued growth in educational leadership and proven track record of fostering an inclusive and enriching learning environment, Sara will continue to build on the strong foundation established by past leadership.
Sara has been an integral part of Milo Community School for a number of years. She is dedicated to maintaining the high standards of excellence and supportive community spirit that Milo Community School is known for. For the past five years, Sara has worked as a Teacher, Athletic Director, and Wellness Champion. In these roles, Sara has developed a strong Physical Education program with much community involvement, focusing on financial literacy through Classroom Economy, and student and staff unity through wellness initiatives.
“I am excited to expand upon my current leadership roles to engage the wonderful students, staff, families, and communities that make Milo Community School a safe and nurturing place that supports positive learning and growth,” notes Sara.
In addition to her professional experience, she is currently pursuing her Masters of Education with focuses in Learning Disabilities and the Neuroscience of Teaching and Learning. She has completed her Leadership Quality Standard Certification, further enhancing her ability to effectively lead and support the school community.
Sara is also a devoted wife and mother, which brings many joys and learning opportunities to her life. As an ex-competitive swimmer, ranking in the top 20 in Canada, and a beloved Head Coach, Sara spends her whole summer with her two-year-old, Savanna, in the beautiful Vulcan pool or backyard sprinklers.
