
The Palliser School Division is pleased to announce that Chad Jensen has accepted the role of Principal at Coaldale Prairie Winds Secondary commencing August 25, 2025.
A dedicated and passionate leader, with strong communication skills, Chad’s professional focus is centered around instructional leadership and building collective efficacy within the team. He believes in student focused decision making within a collaborative school culture.
Chad hails from the Livingstone Range School Division and has 21 years of teaching experience. He also has 11 years of administrative experience, starting with the last 5 years as principal of F.P. Walshe School in Fort Macleod, AB, and 6 years as principal at Livingstone School in Lundbreck, AB.
Chad received his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education in 2004, from the University of Lethbridge. He later obtained a Master of Education, specializing in Educational Leadership in 2015, also through the University of Lethbridge.
As a leader, Chad strives to positively influence others through strong relationships and demonstrating care for the whole person. Co-constructing a shared vision with all stakeholders is a personal strength and he is a firm believer in the power of collaboration and working as a team. Chad’s experiences have taught him the benefits of a distributed leadership approach towards school improvement and what can be accomplished when a leader supports and empowers others.
Jensen notes, “Collectively creating the conditions for all stakeholders to feel a strong sense of belonging in a school is foundational to student growth and achievement. All school-based decisions should be student centered, and I look forward to the opportunity to build positive relationships and trust with the Coaldale Prairie Winds Secondary community.”
Married with two children, Chad and his wife Natalie recently moved to Coaldale. He and his family enjoy spending quality time together in the outdoors and enjoy their boys’ sports and activities. Chad is a lifelong learner who enjoys hiking, running, golfing, and partaking in many other sports in his spare time.
