This year, the Palliser School Division Board of Trustees will continue the work of shaping a new strategic vision for the future. This is a deliberate pause, a moment to step back and view the full landscape of education, assess community needs, and determine the lasting impact they wish to achieve. It’s a time for reflection, realignment, and consultation with communities and stakeholders, setting a course to guide the Division for the next four to five years. This strategy provides a roadmap for Palliser schools and the Division as a whole, helping them pursue their goals with a steady compass—even in challenging times.

Strategic planning represents the Board’s commitment to students, educators, and all communities within the Palliser School Division. As the Board assesses the current state of the Division, they focus on building upon its strengths while identifying areas that need attention. Discussions span the evolving needs of students and teachers, as well as other current and future factors that will have an impact on education.  By taking stock of where the Division stands, they can set a realistic, forward-looking vision for where they aim to go.

Creating a shared vision requires input from all stakeholders. The Board would like to access the collective wisdom of our school communities and therefore invites perspectives from parents, caregivers, current students, graduates, staff, community members, business leaders, and social partners. Feedback will be gathered both in person with small focus groups and open access to online surveys, ensuring everyone who wishes to contribute has a voice. This collaborative approach will help the Board establish priorities that genuinely reflect the needs of every student entering a Palliser school.  Invitations and surveys will be shared very soon.

But vision alone isn’t enough. Throughout this multi-year journey, the Board commits to clear goals and progress markers to stay accountable and build momentum. By identifying key indicators of success, they can regularly assess and celebrate milestones along the way.

Strategic planning touches every part of the Division, from classrooms to staffrooms, to boardrooms and beyond. It is a roadmap that not only leads but also inspires. In envisioning the future, the Board sees students prepared not only academically but as engaged, resilient citizens. This is the true strength of strategic planning: a unified vision that strengthens the Division and creates a brighter future for all involved.  The Board looks forward to sharing this journey with Palliser School Division communities.
