The Board of Trustees passed a motion at its regular monthly meeting Thursday, Nov. 24 to release the full report of the organizational review findings. The report has been redacted to comply with Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPP) legislation. The section of the act is noted wherever information has been redacted.

The report is available in PDF format here.

The executive summary and recommendations were released Nov. 3, 2016, the same day the review findings were shared with the board by Dr. Terence Weninger and Dr. Kelly Williams-Whitt. They conducted the independent review over the course of about five months, ending Oct. 31.

Following the release of the recommendations Nov. 3, the board began a process to address the findings, accepting all 21 recommendations in principle. The board committed Thursday to creating an online tool for tracking progress on the recommendations.

The board discussed issuing a request for proposal, seeking a facilitator to help support the process of addressing the recommendations. Acting Superintendent Dr. Garry Andrews said a response to some of the 21 recommendations is already in progress and can be quickly completed, but others will be more complex.

The board also passed a motion to merge a policy review process trustees committed to before the review report's completion with the process of addressing the report recommendations. That policy review will become part of the review report response.

Board Chair Robert Strauss said the public will be invited to offer feedback throughout the process as it unfolds over the next 11 months, which is what remains of the board's term.
