Palliser School Division is thrilled to announce Shabana Rahman’s appointment as Vice-Principal at CIS Omar Bin Al-Khattab Camps, commencing August 26, 2024.
Shabana earned a Master of Education in Curriculum from Avondale University in New Castle, Australia, and obtained a Bachelor of Education from the Pacific Adventist University in Papua New Guinea. She also received a Diploma in Primary Education from Fullton College, located in Fiji.
Shabana brings a wealth of administrative experience and dedication to her new position. She is excited to continue her leadership journey with CIS Omar Bin Al-Khattab Campus. In addition to her prior roles as Principal, she also served as Vice-Principal of Fort McMurray Islamic School, where she skillfully created a cornerstone of leadership and support, especially during challenging times such as the Fort McMurray fires. Her unwavering commitment to students, parents, and the community during this crisis demonstrated her integrity and deep dedication to providing a safe and nurturing educational environment. Shabana joined The Palliser School Division in August 2017 as Principal of Horizon Elementary School then returned to the classroom in 2018 to work directly with students and families at CIS Akram Jomaa Campus.
Married with two kids ages 19 and 17, Shabana and her husband enjoy spending time cooking, traveling, and making quality time together. She is enthusiastic about joining the esteemed team at Omar Bin Al-Khattab Campus and is committed to contributing to the development of lifelong learners. Shabana looks forward to addressing the diverse needs of students through innovative and effective methods, ensuring their academic and personal success.
In her spare time Shabana enjoys walking, reading, gardening, and travelling. She treats everyone like family, building lifelong relationships with colleagues, friends, parents and students alike.
