With the sudden closure of Trinity Christian School in Cold Lake, more than 3,500 students are seeking other school arrangements.
Palliser Regional Schools empathizes with families seeking new arrangements two months into the school year. There are three ways Palliser can offer support to families.
Former Trinity families living in Lethbridge County and Vulcan County may want to consider enrolling in a community school to access the Alberta Program of Studies and the caring community of our bricks-and-mortar schools. There is also a blended option for families choosing to continue home schooling while accessing some programming, such as physical education, in a community school to give children an opportunity to interact with peers.
For former Trinity families living in communities served by Palliser, including Lethbridge County, Vulcan County and the City of Calgary, Palliser’s home school program provides teacher support and supervision for students from kindergarten through Grade 12. For high school students living anywhere in Alberta, online learning through Palliser Beyond Borders may be a solution. Palliser’s online school offers a range of for-credit courses for students younger than 20. Students may register at any time during the year and can study at their own pace, accessing excellent teachers online for support and participating in a vibrant online learning community. This is home-based, flexible learning of Alberta curriculum. Students may complete their Alberta diploma online through Palliser Beyond Borders.
